Planting

The red class is very interested in planting! We noticed a few of our students pretending to plant seeds in the sandbox today. We asked our class a question during our morning carpet time, "Do you think seeds will grow in sand?" 15 students said "yes" and 3 students said "no". We decided to explore this question by planting grass seeds in sand. Now we get to compare the grass seeds in soil and in sand.

A student found an apple seed on our floor after snack time. He decided that he wanted to see if the seed would grow an apple in our classroom. We gave him some soil to pant the seed.

He created an apple picture so that everyone would know what he had planted.

Now we have grass, flowers, beans and apple seeds that we are trying to grow in our classroom. Let the growing begin!
