Red Class

Today was a chilly day.  Please ensure that your child comes to school dressed for the colder weather as we have outdoor play everyday.  We also had our Reach for the Stars Assembly.  Congratulations to those friends who won the awards for Justice for our class this month.

Green Class

Today was a very chilly day......if you are able to send an extra pair of mittens to keep in your child's backpack that would be great!

I played in the block center with the zebras and the elephants. (Goewra)

I loved sharing the paper with Abby.  We were writing names. (Kylie)

I played limbo in the gym. (Zayne)

I made a card for my Mommy at the art table. (Mirren)

I cut out hearts at the art table.  I folded the paper and made a shape. When I cut it out it was a heart. (Alicia)

I made a castle with Allen and Caleb at the block center. (Tyler)

I picked up pompoms with tweezers. (Abby)

I played at the teacher's center.  I was the student and Lauren was the teacher. (Silena)

We had SNOW MUCH FUN at school today! 

Here are a few things we did....

I played at the puppet theatre with Emma. (Yafeat)

My favourite part of the day was making a snowman outside. (Joshua)

I liked playing puppets with Yafeat.  We tried to make people laugh. (Sybilla)

I liked pushing the snow to make snowballs and then I made a snowman. (Nicole)

I made a humongous snowball outside today. (Adrian)

I made a snow angel today. (Miranda)

Emma and I counted things and traced numbers on the iPAD. (Hannah)

I traced letters and was spelling words on the iPAD. (Adrian)

Here are a few things we did today.....

I liked throwing the bean bags in the gym. (Tierney)

I made my name, my brother's name and my mom's name with the letter squares. (Mirren)

I played at the teacher center.  I read all the names on the cards and on the chart. (Sidney)

I pretended to be a cat, an elephant, a frog, a monkey and a crocodile in the gym. (Justin)

I had a good rest today.  I fell asleep. (Tyler)

I loved reading at the reading center.  I looked at our class books. (Kylie)

I played in the gym and did some animal movements.  It was really fun! (Lauren)

Red Class

Happy Monday!  We began our week with a wind chill of -20 degrees.....YIKES!  As per Board policy the children stay inside when the weather is -25 degrees or colder, therefore we had outdoor play as per usual.  With this in mind please remember to dress your child apprpriately for the weather including warm hats, mittens, jacket and also snowpants.  While there isn't a lot of snow on the ground yet the snowpants provide an extra layer of warmth.  Waterproof mittens (preferably not gloves) are recommended.  Also, it is extremely important to label EVERYTHING as there are many pairs of similar snowpants and mittens.  Thank you!

Green Class

Today our JK/SK friends said goodbye to Mrs. Payette....we are going to miss her...we welcome Ms. Spencer who will be joining us next week. 

This is what the children are saying about today...

Rehema and I pretended that we found different things from seagulls.  The pompoms were eggs, the buttons were rocks and the feathers were the wings that they lost while they were flying.  The seagulls use the rocks to help chew up the food in their tummy. (Cole)

I had fun with the Lego.  I made a house with Sidney. (Olivia J.)

I made a cloud picture with white paint.  It looks like a bird. (Lauren F.)

I loved the listening center.  I listened to Pete the Cat. (Kylie)

I matched the bean bag letters with the letters on the alphabet puzzle. (Alex)

Me and Mattias looked through our class books at the reading center. (Tyler)

I went to the writing center and printed sentences. (Rhaven)

I practiced printing my last name today. (Mattias)

My favourite part of the day was making a flower, a square, a pig and a star at the playdough center. (Keira)

Here are a few things we did today:

I liked snack time.  My favourite snack was my muffin. (Alexis)

I liked making a picture of my Mommy in the sand with a stick. (Giuliana)

I liked playing with Max at the block center.  We made a farm with animals and people. (Yafeat)

We had a practice fire drill and had to go outside. (Joshua)

Me, Nicole and Waleed made a chocolate pizza outside with sticks, sand and rocks. (Emma)

I walked around and tried to find out how many boys and girls were at school today.  My friends printed their name under "BOY" or "GIRL." (Madeleine)

I cut out different shapes and printed our name and the name of the shape on it. (Annika)

Green Class

Our class had two informative and fun presentations this morning about fire safety and hand washing. We are sending home some information given to us by the firefighter.

Just a couple of reminders.... Friday is a PD Day and therefore there is no school for students. Teachers will be attending our annual Christian Community Day.  Also, today you will find an interview day and time in your child's mailbag. Please indicate whether or not you will be attending and return the bottom portion of the letter to school. If you did not receive an interview letter that means we have already met or we need to make other arrangements due to vacation.

Here are a few things that we did today....

I made a poppy with red tissue paper. (Sidney)

I made a purple and pink pattern with beads. (Alicia)

I had fun with Ms. Melody.  We were looking for germs under the glitterbug. (Tyler)

I went down the slide. (Patrick)

We learned about fire safety. We stop, drop and roll. (Rehema)

Ms. Melody came to our class and we put our hands under the special light to see the germs. (Lauren)
