"Snow" Much Fun!

Yesterday was such an exciting day! Our first snowfall of the school year! We saw such wonderful play during our outdoor time. We watched many students work together to build and create many things using snow.

We saw many students making snow angels.

"I used big stretches. You stretch out your arms and legs to make a snow angel". - Tara
"I used my whole body". - Nicole

We heard so many friends working together to build a snowman.

"You roll it first, then pass it to me". - Nyah
"You can make the bottom and I'll make the top". -Madison

Joshua made a giant snow monster.

Charlotte made a carriage for Cinderella.

Many students decided that they wanted to TASTE the snow. This lead to a great question at our science table. "Is it a good idea to eat snow?" We brought some snow inside and allowed the students to use magnify glasses to take a closer look at what was in the snow. Once all the snow had melted we learned that snow was mixed with dirt and sand from our playground.

Today at the science table we had three snowballs. A large, medium and small ball. The students were asked the question "Which snowball will melt the fastest?". Here are some of their responses:

"I thInk the small one because it's more small and small ones can melt better than the bigger ones".
 - Senna

"I think the big one will be slow". - Goewra

"The small one because I see drops". - Charlotte

"The little one because it's really little". - Alexis
