French is Fun!

We have been learning all about our letters, numbers, days of the week and the months of the year in French. Take a look at some of the games we've played.

Alphabet Go Fish

Each friend got to take 3 letters in their hands. When it was their turn they had to ask one friend if they had a certain letter. The rule of the game was that they had to ask for the letter in French.

Candy Land

We played the board game using letters. The students had to flip over a card and read the letter in French. If they got the letter correct they could move their playing piece to the correct colour space on the board. If they had trouble, another student would help them out.

Creating Letters

The students were building letters using wooden sticks. They were asked to make "majuscule" (upper case) and "minuscule" (lowercase) letters. While our students were building the letters we observed many students saying the letters in French.

Roll and Build

The students were practicing counting numbers in French. They had to count the dots on the dice then build a tower using the same amount in cubes. Some students decided to have a partner and race each other. The first friend to build all their towers won the game.
